December 31, 1979 marks the anniversary of this ministry, originally known as Christ for Today Church, doing business as Salt and Light Ministries. Three coffee houses located on North Hill, The University of Akron, and in Barberton, Ohio offered Christian fellowship and local music talent.  With a growing congregation in 1982, Christ for Today Church merged with Lamb of God Church in Barberton to form Emmanuel Christian Assembly. In 1985, a church was planted in Harrisonburg, Virginia and in 1991 another was planted in North Canton, Ohio.  During those years, a Ministry Team was formed having input in numerous churches located in Ohio, Virginia, and Indiana. Emmanuel Christian Assembly remained in Barberton until 2022, when a decision was made to sell the assets of the church  to form the ECA LEGACY FUND.   

 

ECA LEGACY FUND is dedicated to the furtherance of the Kingdom of God through the Lord Jesus Christ. Our desire is to make an impact and minister to the Body of Christ, leaving a lasting legacy of faith for:

   -Well established ministries with a history of integrity 

   -Seed money for new programs in established ministries

   -Pastors' financial help 

   -Foreign and local missions
